What are you currently reading?
So, bookworms, what are you currently reading? What's it about? Opinions so far?
I'm currently reading 'The Clan of the Cave Bear' by Jean M Auel
It's about an orphan girl who gets adopted by a group of Neanderthals and is raised in a tribe. In order to be fully accepted she must prove herself to the future leader and face a series of trials.
So far so good, the descriptions are enticing and i love the style of writing.
Need to read more <:

I need to read more often.. I've been on hiatus 'cause of exams, school, etc. I read Small Island for required reading but at the moment I'm reading: Mort and Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett, and Lord of the Rings Book 6 by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Marvel Zombies Series.
Yes it's a graphic novel, but I'm 'Reading' the dialogue and backstory so it counts.

Re: What are you currently reading?
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, because I realized I have never read anything by Twain before.
Re: What are you currently reading?
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. I figured I'd give her "adult book" a try.
Re: What are you currently reading?
*cough*
I've been reading picture books as I am making my own children's story book so I'm doing a lot of research about them. One of these books include Ulf Stark's Dictator, illustrated by Linda Bondestam.
This book should win Finlandia Junior, seriously.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Just started reading "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung" by Lester Bangs.
Re: What are you currently reading?
Five Books into Jim Bucher's "The Dreadson Files" and finishing up "Fruits Basket" and "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. On my Venue is "The Xanth Series" by Piers Anthoney, "Thinner" By Steven King, "The Mask" By Dean R. Koontz, "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, and "Twilight" By Stephenie Meyer.
And that will fill up until the end of January.
Note: Never read/watched Twilight (loves vampires but they do not sparkle in the sun, they suffer final death *Ala World of Darkness*) and re-reading Xanth (excited!)

If you're into vampire lore then I highly doubt you'll enjoy Twilight except to laugh at it. It's not /that/ badly written though, it's just a really crappy story.
Animal Farm is also a great book if you're into history.

1. I tried to read it, got five pages in, and then I stopped, Bella is too /moody/ and angsty for my taste.
2. Umm....I haven't done any research on the book animal farm...and I do rather enjoy history around WWI and II, but I don't know anything about it cept that it talks about communism...a friend suggested the book.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Animal Farm is in its entirety an allegory of the Russian Revolution. It's actually very interesting to see what animal represents what person in real life and whatnot.
And yes Twilight's Bella is so, so, so incredibly annoying.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Animal Farm was an enjoyable read, and one of the reasons I got into reading back in the sixth grade. I imagine if I were to reread it now that I would actually understand it completely.
I just got down reading "Letters from a Stoic" by Seneca the Younger and am beginning "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius later today.
Philosophy makes for great Christmas reading.
