I have a long list, but a few of mine are:
-Coraline (Neil Gaiman)
-Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (J.K. Rowling)

-The Time Machine (H.G. Wells)
-The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman)
-The Ersatz Elevator (Lemony Snicket)
-The END (Lemony Snicket)
-A Wrinkle in Time (Madeleine L'Engle)
Those are just a few. If I could tell you all of them, I'd be here all day.

I've been meaning to read those for a while now, I just haven't got around to it. They sound very interesting.
Re: Your Favorite Books
They make no sense to any human that has ever lived (and this most probably includes Douglas Adams himself) which is why I love them. The senslessness is beautiful

The black magician trilogy! Those are some of my favourite books too, even if I didn't mention them on the list. I haven't heard of some of the others, but of those I have I wholeheartedly approve.

Trudi Canavan is definitely one of my favourite fantasy authors of all time. And if you liked The Black Magician books, you must read the Traitor Spy series (the sequel series) and The Magician's Apprentice (prequel).

Re: Your Favorite Books
I had heard that apparently the other series were very similar to this one, but I shall certainly give them a look =P

Re: Your Favorite Books
Well they're similar because they just build on the same story. That doesn't make them any less awesome.

True. Although I am perpetually in the middle of 'A Clash Of Kings' due to a mix of slow reading and never making the time

Oh the horror of not being able to read due to lack of time.
And having to read boring school-related things instead.
I'm looking at you, high school English teacher.

Hey, I am going to be one of those someday. I will be sure to include only the finest of American literature for my students to read. Like the Book of Mormon.

Here's the ones I can remember. :I
-The Cherub series (Robert Muchamore)
-The Newsflesh Triology (Mira Grant), which goes to hell slightly at the end of the series but I still love it. I'd definitely force the first book upon people. ;7;
-Fatherland (Robert Harris)
-Fever of the Bone + The Torment of Others (Val MacDermid)
-1000 Years of Annoying the French (Stephen Clarke)
